FILM SEMESTER – INNOVATIVE WAY TO EXPERIENCE A MUSIC VIDEO AS A WEBSITE FOR THE ANALOG SYNTHESIZER TECHNO ARTIST "ERDUNG"
Project_Erdung is an experimental music
video format created for a local musician known for his improvised, analog synthesizer sets. The challenge: to translate a constantly evolving, lyric-free sound into an equally dynamic visual language.
The Problem: traditional music videos rely on fixed structures, synchronized cuts, and lyrical cues. This artist, however, performs live without any of these reference points.
Deeply analog and formless, his music challenges conventional structures. Static visuals can't really convey this dynamic.
Instead of capturing one fixed
performance, we built a system to reflect the raw and evolving nature of his music.
Sounds were classified and paired with audioreactive 3D-elements that respond to musical shifts. Every 16 bars, new combinations emerge randomly, generating 169,000 possible variations.
Proposall Rather than presenting a finished video, the project creates a generative 3D-environment accessible through every browser. The experience unfolds in real time, shaped by shifting combinations and spatial movement. It doesn't document a moment, it builds a space where the music can flourish. Made for web use.
