RE/ – a campaign about the internet algorithm and how little influence one has on it
RE/ is a speculative and critical design project that challenges the structures of digital surveillance and data exploitation. At its core is re/set, an open-source tool that visualizes your digital presence, uncovers data exploi-tation, and empowers you to reclaim control. With modes for selective deletion, pro-tection, and full digital purge, RE/ turns passive users into active resistors. It's more than a tool - it's a call for digital self-determination in an algorithmic world. Problem: In today's digital age, privacy has become currency. Your data is harvested, sold, and used to train algorithms, often without real consent. Tech giants profit while you are the product. Surveillance is normalized, shaping behavior and feeding manipulation. Process: That's why we built RE/, a mo- vement and a tool. re/set integrates with your OS-System, scans your digital footprint in real time, and visualizes data flow. You choose what to delete, protect, or erase entirely. It's built for transparency, autonomy, and collective resistance. Proposall: RE/ isn't just software - it's a shift in mindset. We propose a new relationship to data: aware, in control, and liberating. re/set empowers you to reclaim your digital identity and join the resistance against algorithmic control.
